Mary Patricia "Pat" Hourican

1938 - 2025

Mary Patricia "Pat" Hourican, 87, of Indian Rocks Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2025, surrounded by her children. She was born on March 3, 1938, in Manhattan, New York, to Mary Ellen and Neil M. O'Shea.

Pat married John Francis Hourican on June 17, 1961, and they were happily married until John's passing in 2018. Pat was a homemaker, daily communicant, and active in her church. She was a leader of the Wednesday evening Rosary group as well as an active member of both the Marian Spiritual Group and the Legion of Mary. Her attendance of daily Mass at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Largo, Florida brought joy to her life.

She is survived by her children: Peggy Thomas (Joe), Patty Worth (Andy), the Reverend John Hourican and Maureen Hutton (Robert). She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Meagan Thomas, Brendan Thomas (Audrey), Deidre Anne Worth, Erin Marks (Bowen), Heather Worth, Claire Hutton, Robert Hutton Jr., Catherine Hutton and Thomas Hutton, her brother Mike O'Shea (Jan) and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.

Funeral services in Florida will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 10895 Hamlin Blvd, Largo, FL. Visitation is from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the chapel, followed by a funeral Mass at 1:30 p.m., celebrated by her son, Reverend John Hourican.

Funeral services in Memphis, Tennessee will begin Friday, August 29th with a visitation at St. William's Catholic Church, 4932 Easley Road, Millington, Tennessee from 4–6 p.m., and a funeral Mass on Saturday, August 30th at 9:30am. Pat will be laid to rest next to her husband at Calvary Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that donations be directed to the Marian Spiritual Group at St. Jerome's Catholic Church or St. William's Catholic Church in her honor.
