Michael A. "Mike" Sigman

1942 - 2023

Michael A. Sigman (Mike), of Germantown, TN, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was 81. Mike was born in Cheboygan, Michigan on April 26, 1942, to Edmund Sigman and Virginia Carrigan Sigman. He was a 1960 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central High School and attended Marquette University, Ferris State University and Muskegon Community College before serving in the U.S. Army. He worked most of his career for Brown & Williamson. Mike was an avid golfer (until years of sweltering Memphis summers caused him to finally put his clubs away for good), and his passion for Michigan football and the Detroit Tigers was unmatched. Aside from his wedding day and the births of his children and grandchildren, watching the Tigers win the World Series in 1984 was one of the happiest days of his life!

Mike is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Mary Matthews Sigman; his son, Charlie (Susan) and grandchildren, Sarah and Andrew, of Collierville, TN; and his daughter, Susan, of Windsor, CO. He was a wonderful husband, father, Papa and friend, and he will be missed dearly.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held later this summer in Michigan.
