On Saturday, September 11, 2021, Nancy Lee Evans, loving daughter, sister, and aunt passed away at the age of 83.

Nancy was born on June 20th, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee to John S. and Pearl Evans. She graduated from Humes High School in 1956, and worked at the Mallory Air Force Depot and US Army Corp of Engineers, retiring in 1993 after over 34 years of loyal service. Unsurprisingly to anyone who knew Nancy, her work was described as "of the highest quality" and "marked by a sense of pride and professionalism."

Nancy was a faithful woman who loved her Lord and attended Crossroads Baptist Church. Her giving heart and gentle presence will be missed by the many who have known and loved her.

Nancy thoroughly enjoyed movies, the Memphis Zoo, and the former Mid-South Fairgrounds (Liberty Land). Generations of nieces and nephews reaped the benefits of these delights, since she, along with her sister Linda, were quick to treat them to numerous outings to all of these destinations, each trip more enjoyable than the last. Nancy poured her affection upon her family, who truly knew what it meant to be loved by her.

Nancy was preceded in death by her father, John; mother, Pearl; sister Dorothy (Adron) Webb; brother, John S. Jr (Hazel); nephew, John (Betty) Webb. She is survived by her sister, Linda; niece, Melissa (Bryan) Smith; nephews Adron Jr. and Kerry (Sherry) Webb. She also leaves behind grand-niece Julia (David) Martin; grand-nephews Tres (Stephanie) Webb, Taylor (Agnes) Webb, Kashlor Webb, Jesse Webb, and Devin (Viktoriya) Smith.

The funeral will be held on Friday, September 17th at Crossroads Baptist Church at 125 Houston Levee Road. The visitation will be at 10 a.m., with a funeral service to follow at 11 a.m.
