Otto Malone

1924 - 2025

Otto Malone, age 101 years, passed away on November 10, 2025. He was a resident of Memphis, Tennessee.

Otto was born on January 3, 1924, in Carthage, Mississippi, one of nine children, to Julie Pilgram Malone and Buff B. Malone. He served his country with honor in the United States Armed Forces during World War II. Following his military service, he was employed at King Cotton Packing Company, Goldsmith's department store, and Stamms clothing store. He also shared his passion for dance by teaching ballroom dancing.

After his retirement, Otto traveled the world, visiting places like Hawaii, Greece, and Italy, which he particularly enjoyed. He was an avid photographer, capturing the beauty of the places he visited.

Otto was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis and was active at the Memphis Jewish Community Center. He proudly celebrated Veterans Day and July 4th by wearing red, white, and blue, showing his patriotic spirit.

He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as his extended "family" in Memphis, Barry & Jana and Jean.

There will be a visitation on Friday, November 21 beginning at 10:00 AM with the funeral service at 11:00 AM, at Memphis Funeral Home, located at 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Memphis, TN.

Otto Malone will be remembered for his service, passion for travel and photography, and active involvement in his community.
