Parisienne Morris Obituary

Parisienne (Peaches) Luckett Morris was born on December 17, 1956, to the union of the late David Luckett Sr. and Emma Tucker in Mound Bayou, Mississippi.

She received her formal education at John F. Kennedy High School in Mound Bayou, MS. Parisienne (Peaches) accepted Christ at an early age and was united with White Zion Baptist Church in Mound Bayou, MS. She later joined Mt. Moriah East Baptist Church in Memphis, TN., under the leadership of Rev. Melvin Charles Smith.

Parisienne (Peaches) was a master seamstress and tailor, who worked for some of the leading department stores such as: MM Cohn and Dillard's, (33 years). Being the driven woman she was, she also worked at Federal Express, (32 years). She collectively achieved 65 years as an exemplary employee in the workforce.

Parisienne (Peaches), in her leisure time, loved cooking, but her favorite pastime was baking "Rum Cakes" during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. She could have had her own bakery, but she chose to share that special gift with friends and family. With her hands, she wove garments of love for others. Her strength, encouragement, love, passion, faith, and determination have shaped her family to be the men and women they are today.

Parisienne (Peaches) was preceded in death by her parents: David Luckett Sr. and Emma Lee Luckett, and three siblings: Henry Lee Luckett, Sylvester Luckett, and David Luckett Jr.

Parisienne (Peaches) departed her earthly journey on July 11, 2023, at Methodist Germantown Hospital. She leaves to cherish her precious memories and celebrate life, three children: Santwanna Bufford (Tammy/Tam) of Plano, TX., Wendell H. Morris Jr. (Wen) of Memphis,TN. , and Shormaine Morris (Shonta) of Memphis, TN.; four grandchildren: D'Brya Morris of Memphis, TN., Tyron O.
