Roger Latham Obituary

Roger Gaines Latham Jr., 68, of Olive Branch, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on September 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was preceded in death by his father, Roger Latham Sr.; mother, Carolyn Latham; sister, Melanie Latham; sister-in-law, Sharon Latham; and brother-in-law, Jim Good. Roger is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Sherry Lynn Greenfiel-Latham; son, Chad Latham, and his fiancée, Malak Moustafa; son, Chase Latham; daughter, Courtney Latham-Pegram, and son-in-law, Timothy Pegram; granddaughter, Kallie Latham; grandsons, Mostafa Mohamed and Hisham Mohamed; brother, Leonard Latham, and his wife, Pam Latham; nephews, Colin Latham and Conor Latham; sister-in-law, Robyn Greenfiel-Good; niece, Lauren Moon, and her daughters, London Thompson and Laiyah Thompson; as well as numerous cousins and extended family members. Roger also held a special place in his heart for his close friends, neighbors, and former co-workers, whom he considered family. Born in 1956, Roger graduated from Wooddale High School in 1974 and attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He had a distinguished career at Memphis International Airport, where he worked for Northwest Airlines as a Cargo Manager and ticket agent until the company merged with Delta Airlines. He retired from Delta in 2020. Roger was passionate about music, often entertaining family and friends with his singing and guitar playing. Known for his infectious laugh, he cherished spending time with loved ones, especially during the holidays. He delighted in hosting fireworks displays twice a year and was rarely seen without his signature Hawaiian shirts, flannels, or hats. Roger's warmth, humor, and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever. A celebration of Roger's life will be held on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at Memorial Park Funeral Home, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, TN 38119. Visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m.
