Ruby Smith Obituary
She confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Anderson Grove MB Church in Moscow, Tennessee under the leadership of Pastor Andy Sims. She later joined Moscow Church of God in Christ under Pastor Lonnie Haley and later united with the Dewitt Temple Church of God in Christ, now Fellowship Church of God in Christ under the late Pastor S. Carpenter and the late Pastor M. Carpenter.
Ruby worked for Troxel Manufacturing, St. Francis Hospital, and Metropolitan Inter Faith Association (MIFA).
Ruby departed this life on Saturday, July 6, 2024. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Hattie Jackson; husbands, Freddie Walker and Henry Lewis Smith; brother, Willie Ed Jackson (Louise); grandchildren, Debbie McGhee, Maria Henderson (Donald), Carlos Walker; bonus great-grandchildren, LeQuan Boyd, Ashlynn Luckett.
She leaves to cherish her memories, two sons, Clifford Walker (Doris), Eddie Walker (Ora); four grandchildren, Katunda Walker, Lashunda Walker-Yates (Demarco), Laderyl Walker, Sharon Walker; three bonus grandchildren, LeJuan Boyd (Shonda), LaShanda Freeman (Mark), Lendia Bailey (Cedric); two God-children, Gloria McNeil, Charlie Franklin; seventeen great-grandchildren; fourteen bonus great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Viewing Saturday, July 13, 2024 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at H.C. Jett-H.C. Ford Funeral Home, 203 Washington St., Collierville, TN 38017. Funeral service Sunday, July 14, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at Fellowship Church of God in Christ, 451 Quinn Rd., Collierville. Interment in Anderson Grove Church Cemetery, 7545 Cowan Loop, Moscow, TN 38057. Pastor Larry Neal, officiating.
