Shirley Ann Hollahan

Shirley Ann Grehan Hollahan, a devoted wife, mother, church administrator and shining example of how to live a Christ-like life, was taken by the Lord Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was 87.

Shirley raised five children all born within six years of each other and began a career as a Catholic church administrator when her children became young adults. She first worked at St. Anne's on Highland and then at St. Francis of Assisi for 30 years.

Shirley devoted countless hours to adoration and was a member of the Fleur-de-lis prayer group at St. Louis Church among her many ministries, which included regularly feeding the homeless.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Edward Hollahan, in 1987.

She leaves her five children, Claire, Terry (Cathy), Larry, Kay and Paul (Beth) Hollahan, and her sister, Sister Regina Grehan.

She also leaves seven grandchildren - Taylor, Brandon, Thomas and Matt Hollahan; Ron Bailey; April Craig; and Lara Mauk; and seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 12, from 5-7 p.m. at Canale Funeral Home, 2700 Union Avenue Extended. A funeral mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 203 S. White Station Road. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery.
