Vernon David Cleveland Obituary
Vernon David Cleveland was taken home by God’s angels on Monday, March 3, 2025.
David was born July 21, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas and was lovingly adopted at birth by Nellie Bryan and Vernon Cleveland of Millington, Tennessee. He was a faithful member of Hickory Withe Baptist Church. For 30 years, David owned and operated David Cleveland Pumping Service in Millington, Tennessee. He had a passion for people and loved spending time outdoors, whether it was mowing the grass, burning debris or fishing.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, DeAnna Carter (David); his cherished granddaughter, Kelly Dollahite (Jake); and his great-grandchildren, Natalie and Parker. Vernon also leaves behind his beloved wife, Carolyn Cason Cleveland of Hickory Withe along with four bonus children, Richard Sulcer (Deedee), Angela Brigman, David Sulcer (Debbie) and Leticia Johnston. He was also deeply grateful for the friendship of Joyce Sanders.
David’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Funeral Services for Mr. Cleveland were held at 11 A.M. Friday, March 7, 2025 at Hickory Withe Baptist Church with Pastor David Sulcher officiating. Interment followed in Memphis Memorial Gardens on Germantown Parkway in Bartlett, Tennessee.
