Walter Owens Kirkdoffer Sr.

Walter Owens Kirkdoffer Sr., 86, passed away peacefully at his home in Atoka, TN, on Friday, October 10, 2025. He was born to parents Tillman Sr. and Fannie Kirkdoffer, on July 08, 1939, in Batesville, Ark. After graduating from West Memphis High School in 1957, Walter went on to start his working career. He worked at Coca Cola for 43 years until he retired. Walter married the love of his life, Elizabeth Sharp on March 29, 1964 in Memphis, TN at Beverly Hills Baptist church. From that union, 3 wonderful sons were created. Walter was a dedicated member of Rivercrest Baptist Church, where he served as church treasurer. Some of Walter's interests included fishing, which he loved to do. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, attending church, watching westerns, and watching game shows. What he loved most of all, was spending time with his beautiful wife as well as his family. He loved to tell stories and jokes, as well as playing with his grandchildren. Walter is preceded in death by his parents: Tillman and Fannie, 4 of his siblings: Roy Dean, Charles Edward, John George Kirkdoffer, and Mary Goe. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 61 years, Elizabeth Kirkdoffer, 3 sons: Walter Jr., William, and Webb Kirkdoffer, 5 grandchildren: Ashtyn Schaeffer, Trevor Kirkdoffer, Baxter Kirkdoffer, Hayden Kirkdoffer, and Camden Kirkdoffer, and 7 great grandchildren. He also leaves behind 3 siblings: Tillman William Kirkdoffer Jr. of Cabot, Ark, Linda Sue Powell of West Plains, MS, and Brenda Melton of Southaven, MS. Walter will forever be in our hearts, and we will miss him more than words can express.
