William McCormick Obituary

William Norris "Billy" McCormick of Munford, TN passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025 at the age of 75.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Hindman and Virginia Ruth McCormick; and by his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Nancy McCormick. He is lovingly remembered by his children, Chris McCormick (Denise) and Sarah McCormick; his grandchildren, Sam and Jared; his sister, Claudia Wilson (Bob); and his brother, John McCormick (Anne).

Billy was a devoted member of Munford First United Methodist Church, where he gave generously of his time through the Bread of Life food distribution program. His commitment to service reflected the deep care he had for his community.

A lifelong fan of the University of Memphis, Billy was rarely seen without his Tigers hat-and often coordinated with a matching shirt. For over two decades, he held season tickets to University of Memphis basketball games and proudly supported the team from the stands. His enthusiasm extended to football as well, especially during the season when his grandson Jared performed in the marching band. Billy took great pride in watching Jared's performances and reading articles by his grandson Sam, who served as sports editor for The Daily Helmsman.

A celebration of Billy's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 2 at Munford First United Methodist Church in Munford, Tennessee. Following the service, all are invited to stay for dessert and share stories in honor of Billy's memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Munford First United Methodist Church in support of the Bread of Life.
