Emma Jean Zell Gunnell

Emma Jean Zell Gunnell, of Sun City, Arizona, born in Kokomo, Indiana on September 27, 1925 to Floyd E. and Mary Elizabeth (Haworth) Zell went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 22, 2006 at 3:10 P.M. Emma Jean attended Russiaville school until her senior year when she moved with her family to Kokomo, graduating from Kokomo High School in 1943. She was employed by Union Bank and Trust Company and later by Ramseyer Piano and Organ Company for over 25 years. Next to her family she loved music and the opportunity to share her talent with those around her. Emma Jean was a member of the Main Street Methodist Church in Kokomo, Indiana until moving to Arizona in 1994, when she and her husband transferred their membership to Bellevue Heights Baptist Church of Sun City, Arizona. She was also a member of United Commercial Travelers for which she served as Indiana State Organist for 4 years and International Organist for 2 years. Other memberships include the Kokomo Music Club, Harmony Organ and Keyboard Club, Sun City Parkinsons¹ Support Group, Parkinsons¹ Awareness Association of Central Indiana, and Pivotal Research. Emma Jean married Elmer E. Gunnell, November 27, 1946, who survives. One sister, Mary Jane Burge of Jackson, Mississippi, also survives her. two sons: David and wife, Heather of North Webster, Indiana; Gary and wife, Linda, of Surprise, Arizona; four grandchildren: Jeffrey Gunnell and wife, Lori, of Carmel, Indiana; Annette Krintz and husband, Tony, of Lucerne, Indiana; Jenniffer Seyfert and husband, Kevin, of Mesa, Arizona; and Andrea McLaughlin of Scottsdale, Arizona; two step grandsons: Mitchal Nusbaum and wife, Dee, of Williams, Indiana; and Robert Nusbaum and wife, Kim, of Goodyear, Arizona. Also surviving are six great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two daughters. A memorial service celebrating Emma Jean¹s life will be held Monday, February 27, 2006 at 10:00 A.M. at Bellevue Heights Baptist Church, Sun City, Arizona.
