"Gini" passed away peacefully on February 13, 2014. She was born on August 9th, 1936, of Presbyterian missionary parents. Dr. Herman and Tobena Stuart. At three years of age she and her parents and her brother, Bruce, traveled to Allahabad, U.P. India, where they lived until being evacuated with her mother and brother during WW1 returning to Iowa. May of 1947 she returned to India with her family and attended Woodstock School, Mussoorie India for five years before returning to the United States for college.
Gini graduated from Upsala College in East Orange, NJ in 1957. she spent her junior year at Edinburgh Scotland University. She was a receptionist, secretary at the United Nations in New York.
On October 17th 1970 she married Robert Elting of New York City and they lived in St. Petersburg Florida. In 1977 she became an executive secretary at the Chemistry Department of Yale University, New Haven Conn.
In 1982 Gini now widowed moved to Sun City, Arizona, where she could enjoy concerts, hiking, and swimming in community center pools all year long. She was employed at Mesa Verde Power until retiring. She belonged to the Phoenix Hiking Club and climbed the Superstition peaks and twice hiked the Grand Canyon down to Phantom Ranch and back up.
She traveled to China, India, Mexico, England, and Scotland, in her desire to meet people all over the world. She traveled to China sailed the Yangtze River and walked the Great Wall. She passed away following a hard struggle with Alzheimer, disease.
She often traveled to Warner, NH in the summer to be with her brother and family and astounded everyone with her long distance swimming in Tom's Pond.
Gini's warm smile and generous nature and her love of classic music and sense of humor will always be remembered by her special care giver and friend Lucy Davis in Phoenix and the special resident home called "Summer Breeze". Her family thanks Condit and Associates for their kindness and loving care.
She has gone home to be with Her Lord Jesus and Savior, she is remembered joyfully with greatest love in our hearts and fond memories by her family. She is survived by Dr. Bruce Stuart, sister in law Mary Stuart, nieces and nephews Bonnie Knight, Robbin and Duane Bailey, Heather and Mike Flynn Robert Stuart and Dove and Will Simmons. Great nieces and nephews Maggie, Daisy, John, Mary Rose, Matthew, Clement, Oliver and Lucy Flynn.
Our beloved sister Gini now in the kingdom of Eternal Light and we look forward to knowing that we will meet her there.
