Mabel Messina Obituary

NORWOOD Mabel G. (Shackley) Messina, 72, of Norwood, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2008, at Victoria Haven Nursing Facility in Norwood. She was the wife of the late William M. Messina. Born April 9, 1936, in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Beatrice (Barnes) and George Shackley Jr. Mrs. Messina was a graduate of Norwood High School, Class of 1954, and was a retired licensed practical nurse at Norwood Hospital, working there for many years. She is survived by three sons, Robert A. Messina and his wife, Brenda, of Randolph, William M. Messina Jr. and his wife, Elizabeth, of Brockton, and Brian E. Messina of Norwood; two brothers, George H. Shackley III of Florida, and David Shackley of North Carolina; and four grandchildren, Lori, Michele, Nicole and Lisa. Visiting hours are Thursday, Nov. 6, 4 to 8 p.m., at Kraw-Kornack Funeral Home, 1248 Washington St., Norwood. A funeral service will take place Friday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

I have great memories of Mabel We went through school together
worked together and I was in her wedding.The last time I . . saw her another friend and I took her to lunch. We had lots of laughs. The nurse said she was having a good day.I am sorry I did not get back for another lunch. My sympathys are with all of you. She told us all about her gradchildren and was very proud of all of you.
