Angela Letrice Oggs

Angela Letrice Oggs, 51, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023, at Sweetwater Hospital. She was a graduate of Sweetwater High School and was a lifelong member of First United Church of Christ in Sweetwater. She worked at Sweetwater Hospital as a cook for 12 years and was well known for her famous homemade lasagna. She was a devoted mother and grandmother. She leaves to cherish her memory her parents, Melvin Leroy and Earnest Dean Oggs; a son, Jimiese Lequann McDermott; a daughter, Jasmine Lavonn Oggs; three grandsons, Jayden Lequann Knox, Zaylen Tashon McDermott, and Javion Lyric Oggs; two granddaughters, Kyleigh May Lowry and Aliyanna Sharee McDermott; best friends, Tamika Bradley and DeShawna Hendricks; goddaughter, Alesha Sharp; god-sister, Vanea Oggs; and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. Homegoing and funeral services will be Sunday, Feb. 5, at 1:30 p.m. at First United Church of Christ in Sweetwater with Pastor Nicholas Jones delivering the eulogy. The family will receive friends on Sunday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow in Sweetwater Memorial Gardens. Visitation by friends will begin on Saturday, Feb. 4, at M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home from 1 to 4 p.m. Services of loving memory entrusted to M.D. Dotson & Sons Funeral Home of Athens.
