Jane Everhart Obituary

Jane Jones Everhart, 87, of Niota passed away Friday, Nov. 11, 2022, at The Woods of Sweetwater. She was a native of Monroe County, a resident of McMinn County most of her life, a daughter of the late Clyde and Grace Hamilton Hawkins and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Thomas Everhart; brothers, Jerry Hawkins and Mickey Hawkins; and sisters, Barbara Tilley and Shirley Harrison. She was retired from Athens Products and a member of Hilltop Baptist Church. Survivors include daughter, Vickey Garner of Niota; son and daughter-in-law, Forrest and Sonja Jones of Niota; two grandchildren, Jerry (Rhonda) Wattenbarger and Jamie (Chad) Boyd; four great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Laycock-Hobbs Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Elliott officiating. Interment will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in McMinn Memory Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Forrest Jones, Jerry Wattenbarger, Keith Bridges, Brian Kadau, Dylan Eaton and Brian Greenlaw. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
