A. Wayne Walthall

A. Wayne Walthall age 75 of Gloucester Point died Monday, October 25, 2021. He was a graduate of Gloucester High School Class of 1965. Retired from the Naval Weapons Station. He enjoyed all sports, especially basketball and fishing. He also enjoyed restoring antique tractors. He loved spending time with his friends but his greatest love of all was his family. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents Turner Ashby and Emma Walthall. His son Christopher Neil Walthall. His father-in-law, Henry E. Shackelford, and brother-in-law, Henry E. Shackelford Jr. A niece Lisa Walthall and cousin Michael Haury. He is survived by his wife, Linda Walthall, daughter Kendall W. Caton (Stevie), stepsons, Timothy C., and Troy S. Tillage (Nikki). Brother A.T. Walthall (Judy), Sister Kim Walthall (Jeanne). Sister-in-laws Sherry Shackelford, Kaye Dame (Mike), Janet Kinney (Clark). Grandchildren, Amanda Hamilton (Jon), Emily Crawford (Jack), Lexi Caton, Madalyn, Gabrielle, Evan, Ashton, and Brody Tillage. Great-grandchildren Amelia and Henry Hamilton. Earl Haury, Uncle and David Haury cousin. Nephews, David, Mark, and Matthew Walthall (Elizabeth). Niece Mary Susan Maher (Jacob). Dear family friends Buddy and Mary Rilee. The family will receive friends Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Hogg Funeral Home from 3:00 pm until 4:30 pm. Graveside service officiated by Reverend Ken Waclo will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, November 1, 2021, in Bellamy United Methodist Church Cemetery, 4870 Chestnut Fork Road, Gloucester, VA 23061.
