Adam Jason Rose, 51, born August 7, 1970 in Richmond, VA passed away unexpectedly Saturday, September 4 from heart failure. Adam was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Atkinson Youngblood, his father Donnie Melvin Rose, his grandparents Carl and Edna Rose and Sam and Lila Atkinson, his uncles Dannie Rose, Augie Endebrock, Nelson Capps and his cousin Angela Capps. He is survived by his son, Jacob O'Sullivan, his brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Tasha Rose, his "aunt and second mom" Debbie Stembler and uncle Bill Stembler, aunt and uncles Dottie and Ed Grace, Dee and Vince Kidd, Carlton and Mary Rose, aunt Sandra Quinn, and his uncle Tom Barham. He is also survived by many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Adam was a character in every sense of the word and was always the life of the party. He was quick-witted and had a great sense of humor. At his best, you simply loved being around him and could count on laughter from his very big personality. Adam had a passion for his dogs, Lola and Ed, and also loved photography. For many years, Adam was the owner and operator for Rose's Lawn Care in Hilton. He developed a reputation as someone who could fix anything. Right now, family and friends could use him to help fix our broken hearts.

A Celebration of Life for Adam will be held Friday, September 10 from 4-6pm on the back lawn of the James River Country Club. The family has requested that donations be made to 4 Paws Animal Rescue in leu of flowers. Arrangements are being made by Amory Funeral Home.

Farewell Adam, may you rest in peace. I will always remember the fun times and funny moments you brought to the party. God bless and look over your family through this disheartening time.

I remember Adam as a young little boy , full of life that possessed intelligence way beyond his young years. Adam was loved dearly by everyone , but especially by his Grandmother Lila. Her sentiments of pride and joy were spoken as he blushed one day at lunch. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Adam is back home with his loving mother....he is resting in peace. I will miss him so very much and all the things he helped Bill and I do that we were no longer able to accomplish! As I continued to have more back problems he even brought coffee and 2 Tylenol tablets in the morning and said, "Now don't get up until the pills kick in". He had a heart of gold and I loved him with all my heart! I just can't express how much he will be missed. We will meet again my Sweet Adam.

This is yet another heart breaking loss for the "Atkinson family." My family moved to Village Green in 1970 and that is when I met Dee and got to know her entire family. Adam and big brother, Sam, were just little kids and yes, we changed a few diapers! Adam was so funny and every time I saw him he would say how he remembered that he used to call me "Parriet". Although he struggled through the years, I believe he always had a good heart and cared for his mom and family so deeply. I am so sorry for your loss and pray for peace and comfort for all of his family and friends. Rest in peace, Adam. Parriet loves you. (You too ,Sam!)
