Alice Batchelor Obituary
Her memories will be cherished by daughters, Linda Batchelor Smith (Harold) and Zyvonne Byrd (Wilford), both of Hampton, VA; grandchildren, Wayne Lipscomb, II, Trevious Byrd, Jordan Smith and Bria Byrd, all of Hampton, VA; great grandchildren, Aryanna Lipscomb of Hampton, VA and Zouri Byrd of Suffolk, VA; four sisters, Mary Batchelor of Battleboro, NC, Annie Russ (David) of East Orange, NJ, Bettie Sessoms of Hampton, VA, Maxine Alston of Nashville, NC; two brothers, Garland Batchelor of Newark, NJ and Harold Batchelor of Hampton, VA; and a multitude of nieces, nephews and friends.
Alice enjoyed bingo, puzzles, flowers, gardening, bus trips to the casino, being pampered at the hair and nail salon, but was best known for her cooking skills. Her greatest gift was the love for her grandchildren and her passion for feeding others.
A viewing will be held on Friday, October 27, from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
A celebration of her life will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 28 at First Baptist Church-Hampton, 229 N. King Street, Hampton.

Linda, Zyvonne and Wayne, I am sincerely sorry to hear about Alice, I have so many memories of her especially when Wayne was little. She was so funny and always had a mischievous smile on her face. She was a wonderful person, I am glad I got to know her. My thoughts are with you all during this sad time.
