Andre' Ruffin Obituary

HAMPTON - Andre' D. Ruffin, 34, returned home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 2, 2008.
Preceding before him were his brother, Lewis W. Johnson; his sister, Zenobia Turner; and his grandmother, Clara M. Ruffin
Left to cherish him in memory are his son, Anzyea Key; his fiancEe, Carletta Bress; his parents, Timothy and Janice Ruffin Allen; grandfather, Judson Ruffin; five sisters, Demeco Vaughn and her husband, Craig, Tiliha Turner, Janice Williams, and her husband, Trevis, Pantoja Allen, and Rena Key; five aunts, four uncles, and 13 nieces and nephews.
Andre' was most definitely a child of God who loved life, loved people, and loved his family.
A memorial celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 12, at the funeral home.
The Ruffin family is receiving services of comfort at Nicholson-Cummings Funeral Home, 4304 Victoria Blvd., Hampton, (757) 728-0122.

Dearest beloved precious Son. It has been a while since I´ve seen your face, hugged or touched you in the flesh, but your spirit is here with me everyday. Your son loves and misses you dearly. I can feel your presence is forever with us, other then not seeing you in the flesh, your spirit never left. It´s comforting to know my son is always here with me and you don´t have to ever suffer anymore. I know you are watching over your loved ones. As you use to say God has whatever we needs, He has our backs. Everything you told me in the past, did come to past. I´ve seen the truths. I know you were truly called by the Holy Spirit. I miss you so...., much son. I´m keeping my promise to look out for your son, he´s a very handsome young man, just like his father, he´s your twin. I know you would of been and are very proud of him, he´s just like you. It took me a while to get use to the fact he walk, talk and act just like you but, not you, although he thinks everything he does, he´s the first to say or do it, "sounds familiar?" But he is precious, just like you.

It´s getting late babe, You are Sadly missed, very deeply loved but, "never forgotten." Forever in a day,

My Beloved Son Drez',
Happy Birthday!

This has been a long year, and it doesn't seem to get any easier missing you. But just knowing you were and are a child of God Almighty, I feel blessed knowing I have His promise we will..., see each other again. So it is blessedful..., know for all of us, we will someday make that same transition. That's something we as true Christains should all look forward too. At least I look forward to seeing and living with my Lord in Heaven. To die for and with The Lord is to live. To die out of the Lord is just that, dead! Thank God you're not dead, "Just Asleep." My Dearly Beloved Son (Drez')

It's been three years since I last saw, touched you or heard your voice in the natural. We miss you so... much. It's been so... hard for me being here without you. I think of you often. I can still see you, hear your voice and smile at you and see you smile at me in my heart. Your nephew's and niece's still remember you and still talk about you and we still laugh about the good times. Aside from the Father, Son and Holy Ghost, you were my hero. You asked me a question with the deepest of concern I had ever seen from you. It was a request that was one of the hardest things I ever had to do in my whole life. I felt in my heart that, that request was your last assignment before God called you home. I told myself if this request met you going to Heaven I could not let you down. It was really rough, but, Drez' we did it! We passed the test. Thank God and God Bless you. If not for God's love through you that day, I would not be the person I am today. We have a spiritual bond only God Amighty can understand or break, not man. God bless you. God Bless you and I thank God for giving me you as my Son. Dearest Andre' (Drez'),

My most beloved son and little lamb of the One and Only True and Living Most High God.

I truly miss you calling me on the phone to hear about my day, how I was doing, feeling, or just to say hi beautiful, or I would say hi handsome, how was your day? Whenever we ask each other that question, we would reply; I'm fine, "bless you for asking".
Drez', you were the most loving, kindest, merciful, and gentlest young man I have ever known in this life time. As a child you brought so much joy to everyone who knew you, not knew of you. As a little boy, you were always full of joy with a genuine smile that lit up any room. For me you were God's door to help encourage me when life would try an swallow me up. Even as a child your love was so strong, God spoke to you to lift me up and help keep me strong. You never knew it but next to God, even as a child you were the wind beneath my wings on earth.
As a young teen you felt a strong compellment, to protect me, as also your sister's, because as you would say; (ma), you are too... nice, people seem to always try to take advantage of you. Those words help made me to become a stronger person. We spent alot of family time together because we were a very close family, we protected each other. But, God taught me to teach you at a tender age, it was okay, He IS, the Father of all fathers, He will take care of you. In that Andre' my son, I am very proud and thankful to God for the straight, striving for the mark man, God raised you to be. As a young man you became everything I dreamed you would be and more; God fearing, thoughtful,happy, a faithful friend, well spoken,independent,very articulate, an excellent artist, played the piano (self taught), a great chef, clean, certified computer repair man, rebuilt a wrecked car with your bare hands with the help only from God to perfection, electrician in cars or homes and a mechnic that kept our cars in shape. You liked listening to gospel, singing, jazz, easy listening music like Sade, Stevie Wonder, old school, listening to the word of God, and singing in the choir for God. You enjoyed witnessing for God as a vessel a living sacrafice to help save souls for the Kingdom of God. You helped strangers, you had a strong desire to bring out the best in people, even if they didn't believe in themselves. You loved all of your nephews, nieces, cousins, friends, uncles, aunts and they loved you. Although God blessed you to be very handsome, 5 feet 11 inches, 180 lbs., well spoken, and a very intellegent young gentleman, you were always modest, un-like most people you never let that go to your head, because at a very early age you were taught, who you were on the inside, knowing who's you are and keeping God in your life all of your life meant and always did mean more then anything or anybody in this world to you, including (me). You always took that to heart. Next to God, family meant everything. If a person was seriously in Christ Jesus they were family to you too! You were always willing to lend a genuine helping hand and didn't leave until the work was finished, you wouldn't except a dime for your kindness. Young, old, and all race's you loved and they loved you. As a father you enjoyed spending quality time with your son, you loved reading, teaching and showing him all the love a real father could give his son. Every birthday of your son, you would personally create a giant birthday card just for your son, with nothing but pure love. You spent quality time deciding what to write, what design to draw, what color's to choose from that would light up Zyea's world. It seemed to fill your heart with joy to see Zyea's card come to life, as if you at that time, were seeing the card through your son's eye's.
That's when you seemed the happpiest, always speaking and teaching your son about the "True and Living God", grasping every opportunity given to express God's undying love, spending quality time creating things you said you knew he'd love. Always concerned about his well being even until the end. Andre' you are still loved and always will be. As for myself your (mother), sister's Demeco, Janice, Pantoja, sister in spirit/ cousin Samantha, and the rest of your family has and will always keep your legacy on going for you in your son by the Grace of God, through all your loved ones, friends, and family. God Bless you, Andre', for leaving the suprising, eternal Mother's Day plaque which reads: "WHAT WE LACK IN POSSESSIONS, WE MAKE UP IN LOVE...Happy Mother's Day, Love from: Andre' D. Ruffin :-)"

You really set a role modeled example for a lot of fathers as being a dad in loving their children.
Words will never express all the fullness of love and joy, you have brought into our lives. You are truly loved and missed in the flesh but, your spirit lives on in all the hearts that truly knew and loved you.

Dear Andre', Words could never say what or just how much you met and still mean to me. You are a beautiful Angel of light in my life from God. You have shown me what a real person of God should be like, You cared so deeply for people. You showed me through Christ, how to take life seriously and how to believe in God with all my heart, soul and might.. You took that walk with me, through God you helped my faith to grow strong and I can't forget that. You didn't leave my side. You were a friend to the friendless, a brother to the brotherless, a father to the fatherless, if allowed. The love you gave to humanity, the lowly in heart,and those of low estate, has touched so...many lives. You never looked down on anyone, everyone was someone special to you as they are special to God. You gave love even when it wasn't given in return.
