Annie Hale Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Annie G. Hale, 99, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014. She was a native of North Carolina, and a resident of The Peninsula for 53 years. She retired from Rocky Mt. Barbeque after 11 years of service, was a member of Northside Baptist Church for 40 years, and Hampton Roads Baptist Church for 9 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Hale; and parents, Julia and David Moore. She was survived by 4 daughters, Esther (George) Duke, Peggy (Charles) Hayes, Connie (Bobby) Finch, Annette (Dennis) Miller; son, Wilson Frank Hale; sister, Bliss Kirkland; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 21, at 2:00 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home, officiated by Pastors Ben Collett and Daniel Pruitt. A visitation will be following afterwards until 4:30 p.m. Mrs. Hale will be taken to the Letchworth Funeral Home in Scotland Neck, North Carolina, for a visitation on Thursday, May 22, from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m., followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m. in the Nahalah Cemetery, Halifax, North Carolina.
