Carl Morrissette Obituary

Carl Edward Morrissette, 65, of Poquoson, Virginia passed away on May 9th, 2023.

Carl was born in Hampton, Virginia in 1958 to Ernest and Fay Morrissette. He was a proud member of IBEW Local 1340 for more than forty years. He attended their apprentice school and often traveled throughout the Mid-Atlantic working as a master electrician. He finished his career as an electrical inspector at NASA Langley.

Carl's favorite hobby was golf. He played frequently and volunteered at a local course in his retirement. If he wasn't golfing or cutting his grass, you could always find him at a soccer, baseball, football, or softball field cheering on his kids, nieces, and nephews. Carl's love and support for his family and friends shined through in everything he did.

Carl is predeceased by his parents, his nephew Will Penci and his brother-in-law Rich Penci. He is survived by his children Neil Morrissette, Jessica Morrissette, and Lee Morrissette (Dawndi), as well as his loving wife Cynthia Lynn Davis and her children Ivy, Ryan and Coleman; his siblings Cindy (Bob), Doug (Marjie), Mary (Mark), Judy (Wally), Trish, and his many nieces and nephews.

There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, May 20th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at Marlbank Cove Recreation Center (111 Lookout Point, Yorktown, VA).

Carl lived life large. He had a big heart and wonderful sense of humor. Playing golf with Carl was an adventure during the early years, but as with all the things that he liked, Carl just kept getting better. The thing I will most remember is his sense of humor and that he worked hard and played hard.

Carl was a great father. He loved our kids so very much. He was always available and supportive of their sports and any thing they were involved in. He leaves behind a bunch of wonderful memories and three kids who loved him dearly. He will forever be in their hearts.
