Charlotte ERNST Obituary
Charlotte Helen Pszybylowski was born in 1909 in St. Louis, Mo. She married, Charles M. Ernst Sr., in 1933. Together they raised two sons, Carroll W. Ernst and Charles M. Ernst Jr., and shared 52 years of marriage.
Charlotte spent many years dedicated to the service of her Lord through volunteerism at her local church, St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Hampton and the Holy Family Catholic Retreat House. Recognized for her perfection at making beds, her name was well known by the women devoted to this duty. Her renowned cakes and love of people, traits she passed on to her granddaughters, Rebecca and Theresa, made her a cherished friend and loved one. Charlotte also served as a master seamstress in the bridal section of Nachman's Department Store, for many years before her retirement. Her strength, sincerity, vitality, and exceeding joy at reaching 101 years of age will remain a precious memory to her family and friends.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; sister; three brothers; and husband, Charles M. Ernst Sr.
She is survived by her son, Carroll W. Ernst and wife, Robin and their daughter, Rebecca of Hampton, Va. She is also survived by her son, Charles M. Ernst Jr., and wife, Wanda and their four children, Catherine Hurt, Theresa Walker, Mark Ernst, and Pamela Talley of Longmont and Colorado Springs, Colo. Charlotte was further blessed and survived by seven great-grandchildren; and 6 great great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, in St. Joseph Catholic Church of Hampton. A private interment will follow the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be sent to St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

It was a pleasure and honor to work with "Miss Charlotte". I will remember the smile on her face when it was time to do the rowing exercise. She has touched my heart and my spirit in a very short time and I know you will surely miss her.
