Daryl Wynne Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Daryl C. Wynne, 64, of Williamsburg, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, to join in Heavenly rest with Gilbert, her loving husband of 33 years, her beloved son, Jeff, and her parents, Ellen Armstead and Thomas Crump. Born on April 4, 1952, in Williamsburg, Virginia and raised in Charles City, Daryl was a devoted and active member of The Historic First Baptist Church until her health declined. She worked in the banking field for more than 35 years and retired in 2013, as an Assistant Vice President and Branch Manager, of TowneBank. Daryl sat on several non-profit boards and was a proven leader and an inspiration to her staff. She was known by her community as a fun-loving, devoted friend and an enthusiastic Dallas Cowboys fan. She enjoyed hosting community events, being surrounded by loved ones and helping anyone in need. Daryl will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She leaves cherished memories to her children, Michael and Allan; her grandchildren, Devin, Raven, Marty, Taylor, Amari and Allani; her sister, Janice; her in-laws, Leon, Vivian, Joyce, Janice, Sharon (Lawrence) and Larry (Tonita); a special cousin, Lorenzo Washington (Anita); Godchildren, Shawn Ellis (Stacy), Rhonda Fitzgerald (Ben) and Keith Stephens; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many caring friends. A service, celebrating her life, will be held at 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 17, 2016, in First Baptist Church, Williamsburg. Interment will follow in Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery, Williamsburg. Family and friends will assemble at 203 Springfield Drive by 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Mrs. Wynne may be viewed from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday in the funeral home. Dear Family of Daryl,
I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to you upon the passing of Daryl, who I know was so special to each of you as she was to all in her TowneBank family.
Her uplifting spirit, her winning way with people, and her banking skills made a tremendous difference at Towne. We admired her greatly and feel blessed to have known her.
You are in my thoughts and prayers. May God's sustaining grace comfort you in a meaningful way during the days ahead.
