Many times I have gone to this site pondering what I would say to you and Devin. I am at a loss for words but please know that you two are in my prayers. I miss Dilbri and I think of her almost daily. She lite up a room and I considered her a mentor. You most probably don't remember me, but I was on the HG with Dilbri. I have some photos of you guys and us at your going away party. I would like to email them to you if you want them. Please let me know, you can email me. I pray for your family often. Godspeed!

There never seems to be a right thing to say when something like this happens. My heart goes out to you and your son. Dilbri was a genuinely sweet and kind-hearted person that I can never forget. She made some of those rough days a little more tolerable with her warm words and positive energy. I was blessed to have to pleasure to be a part of her team. Dear Aaron, dear Devin.
Celine contacted us yesterday and told us about what happend to Dilbri.
We all are so very shocked about this sad sad news.
Although we didn´t contact eachother as often, we think and even hope, that you know about our feelings:
All of us (Helmut and Heidi, Martin and family, Anke and family) are very nearly connected to you and Dilbri in our deepest heart.
We wish you to know, that Dilbri will remain in our hearts forever.
We´ll remember her laughter, her smiles, her kindness, the way she looks with her beautyful eyes and hair and everything she gave to us with only being herself, forever.
No words can express our sadness about her passing away, but we are proud and lucky that we had the chance to meet her in our lives and went a short distance together.
Aaron, our deepest symathy goes out to you, Devin and your family and to Dilbris family as well.
If it could be possible we would hug you now, for giving you all the strength and love you need during this sad and heavy time.

Aaron and Devon,
I was shocked and saddened today when I learned of Dilbri's passing. I am so sorry and you both will be in my prayers. I only knew her for a brief time at Ellsworth before your move here to Virginia (she took classes at NAU where I worked and our sons played soccer together at Ellsworth.) After our move to Langley last February I only had the pleasure of running into her a few times (always at the BX) and each time she was always very kind and willing to help me become aquainted with the area if I needed it. She will be missed by many. My thoughts and prayers go out to you.

MSgt Aldrich,
I have been having a difficult time finding this due to being in Iraq. When we found out the news here we were all devastated. Dilbri had so much compassion and dedication to the mission that no SNCO, NCO, or person could ever fill her shoes. She was such an inspiration to me and everyone that worked for her. She offered sound advice and true caring when she spoke. May God bless you and Devin. Know that Dilbri is in a land of peace. She will be missed as a friend and a mentor. Your families are in my prayers. God Bless

I'm so sorry to hear about such a wonderful person passing on so early. My heart hurts for the loss of all who knew and loved her. I met Dilbri thur a good friend we both shared, Angie Dove-Robles, and even though I didn't know her well personally, I'm sad to hear about her death. What I do remember of her is her smile and how "real" and down to earth she seemed to be! The
military has lost a fine troop and more importantly, her family and friends have lost a woman who cannot be replaced, but, who will forever live in their hearts! May God give comfort to all who grieve her death, especially Aaron and Devin. God Bless You and Keep You Strong!

Aaron and Devin, it has broken our hearts to lose Dilbri. She was always smiling and had something kind to say to others when she came to visit us in the Wing Budget Office. She and I shared alot of laughs and her infectious smile lit up the room. She absolutely adored you and Devin. Her eyes would sparkle when she talked about you. I hope this Bible verse will give you strength in your difficult days ahead as you cope with your loss. "I will lift up my eyes unto the hills from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord." Psalm 121:1-2. I know that Dilbri is safely in the arms of Jesus which gives us comfort. May God bless you and your family. Surviving the loss of a loved one is its own kind of test.
To tell our story is a way
of affirming the life of the loved one we have lost--
the experiences we had together,
The favorite family stories.
To tell the story is a way of moving the grief along,
and so contributes to our own healing.
Aaron and Devin, I have written a poem in honor of Dilbri passing, I hope you enjoy it.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that swiftly blow.
I am the diamond glint
on newly fallen snow.
I am the sunlight
on ripened grain.
I am the soft and gentle autumn rain
When you wake from sleep in the early morning hush,
I am the swift, uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft, starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
Death of a loved one is the most severe test that you will ever face, and if you can rise above your grief and if you will trust in God, then you will be able to surmount any other difficulty with which you may be faced. I love you both very much. Ya'll are in my thoughts and prayers.

MSgt Aaron Aldrich and Family I am so sad to be in touch on such a sad occasion but nothing happens in vain. I still remember Dilbri’s professional, tough stands, and high level of discipline and standards that she asked others to live up to while setting the example herself. I know the loss is and will continue to be felt many times over as is evident by the friends and acquaintances all across the world who has signed this guest book; pouring out their memories, sorrows' and well wishes about an honest and secure soul. She will be missed bunches and your family will stay in my prayers. Keep your head to the sky and God bless. May Dilbri Rest in Peace.

After reading the messages sent to you by your friends, I was impressed by the number of them that referred to Dilbri as being their mentor.
Devin, when you read Homer's Illiad and Odyssey, you will learn that when Odysseus was looking for someone in whom to trust his son's education, he chose his friend, Mentor. He chose him because Mentor taught by example, and he wanted his son, Telemachus, to benefit from that example.
I can think of few greater accolades than this.

Aaron,
I'm so sorry for your loss. Dilbri was such a wonderful person and I will truly miss her. In our time at Spang together, no matter how busy she was or what was going on in her world she always made time to talk to me and helped me figure out a way to solve my problems. She really impacted me and gave me a lot insight to learn how to be the person I wanted to be. She was a very loving and beautiful person. The thing that I appreciated most about her is that she never gave me anything, she made me learn how to earn it. I have a lot of great memories of her, she was not only a mentor but a great friend. You and Devin are in my thoughts.

Aaron and Devin,
My deepest thoughts and prayers go out to you on such a terrible time. I enjoyed working with Dilbri while at Spangdahlem where she always had a smile on her face and made me and the rest of the office laugh. I will miss her friendship, serenity and strenght. Aaron, I pray that you receive the strengh to go on and take care of little Devin.

As a new Amn to the military, Dilbri taught me much about life in the military, on a personal note and as a supervisor. She has always been in my thoughts and will always be...my deepest condolences to you and your son, she was greatly loved.

Any accomplishments that any of us have ever achieved, is a direct reflection of the leadership that we have been given in life. Dilbri Aldrich was definetly a leader, and she always set a great example not only for young female airmen, but for young airmen period. What a wonderful human being she really was. And I know that she loved her family so much. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone who loved her and she will be missed. God Bless.
