Mr. Riley was more than just a friend to me. He was an Angel to me who shared a birthday with my Grandfather that I never knew. I am truly blessed to have known him and call him my surrogate, Dad. I was just a co-op student at NASA when I met him in the early 90s. He was there for all my important life milestones...He was my landlord in Buckroe for years, helped me find a reliable car when I needed one, he escorted me down the aisle at my wedding, Oh boy was he upset that forgot to kiss me beforehand :-), and he was there when my children were born. He shared the best stories of his crazy, big family and was so proud of each and everyone of you. I can see him now wearing that blue sweater, with his light blue button down shirt, tie, and slacks making the angels laugh watching down on all of us. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. God Bless!

So very sad to hear this news it immediately brought back such fond memories of growing up on Lancaster Terrace the many neighborhood kick ball games and Halloween shenanigans with all the kids—my memories of Mr. Riley is one of man with a quiet nature, a sweet man who always had a big smile for all of us kids in the neighborhood! After losing our own Dad in 2020, I know first hand the pain you all are experiencing at this time please know you are in my prayers. Sending lots of love from the Hudgins clan With Sympathy Cindy (Dinkee) Hudgins Blanks-Shearin

We were so blessed to know and work with Don at the Full-Scale Tunnel before his retirement. He was one of the most dedicated and knowledgeable engineers to ever work at Langley. A true inspiration and gentleman!
