Edith M. Cowles

WILLIAMSBURG - Edith M. Cowles entered into eternal rest on Monday, October 13, 2014, in her home. Her life began on February 4, 1937, the daughter of the late Emma and Lloyd Cowles, of Williamsburg, Virginia. She was employed for many years as a Security Guard. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. She was also preceded in death by her sons, James W. Cowles and Buddy D. Cowles and two of her sisters, Eva Fauntleroy and Alice Richardson. She leaves to treasure her precious memories, her sisters, Sherry Bervine, Emma Cowles and Rosa Cowles; her brothers, Calvin Cowles, Albert Cowles and Floyd Cowles (Joyce); and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2014, in Whiting's Chapel with the Rev. Morris Randall officiating. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Memorial Park. Family and friends will assemble at 111 Old Colonial Drive by 12:00 noon on Saturday. Ms. Cowles may be viewed from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday in the funeral home.
