Edward Wilson Bradley, 83, a peninsula resident for forty seven years, passed away Saturday, September 11, 2021. Ed was a barber for over 50 years. He was the owner of several shops on the peninsula to include Sherwood, Brentwood, and Beechmont Barber shops. He was a member of All Generations Church. He looked forward to Sunday mornings, always arriving extremely early for coffee, donuts and to socialize with his many friends. He loved to worship Jesus, and listen to Pastor Duane's sermons every week. He was also a member of Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship International. He was a Navy Veteran, worked with the Wounded Warrior Project, and was involved with Youth Challenge. Ed was a long time Washington Redskins football fan, as well as an avid NASCAR fan. He would often tell stories of the times he would attend a Redskins game for just ten dollars, and that included the train to get there and back. He was also known for being a frequent customer at Angelo's Steak and Pancake House. This was one of his favorite places to go eat. Ed's long time family doctor, Dr. Jesus Lizarzaburu, was an essential part of Ed's life. Ed constantly raved about Dr. Lizarzaburu's professionalism and esteemed him highly. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all of the staff at TPMG Grafton Family Medicine.
Ed was preceded in death by his father and mother, Robert Thomas and Hazel Bradley; the mother of his children, Sandra Jo Bradley; and his sister, Peggy Duncan. He is survived by his two children, Shane Bradley (Lisa) of Charlotte County, VA and Tonya Whatley (Glyn Jr.) of Newport News, VA; one niece, Angela Duncan of Fredericksburg, VA; five grandchildren, Meahgan Richards, Tabatha Swanson, Michael Bradley, Daniel Bradley, and Jeremiah Bradley; and 3 great-grandchildren, Avah Richards, Abram Richards, and Maddie Jo Swanson.
