Evelyn STACY Obituary
She was the daughter of the late Katie Baker Darden Rich and James Edward Rich Sr., and the widow of Roger Lee Stacy. She was a graduate of the Delaware Hospital School of Nursing, Wilmington, Del. A former member of Trinity United Methodist Church, The Commonwealth Women's Club and a former member of the Hermitage Country Club.
Mrs. Stacy was preceded in death by her brother, James E. Rich Jr.; and three sisters, Mrs. Frances R. Greene, Mrs. Margaret R. Holland and Mrs. Judith R. Bryant.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews and their families. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Kathy Crew for her devotion and love for aunt, Evelyn and to all the wonderful friends and staff at her home at Cedarfield.
Arrangements by Bliley's-Central, 3801 Augusta Ave. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Peninsula Memorial Park in Newport News.

Evelyn was a friend and an inspiration. Both my parents were residents at Cedarfield, and they benefited not only from Evelyn's warm friendship, but also from the institutional improvements in which Evelyn had had an influence. She was a leader in helping Cedarfield -- then a new facility -- become the outstanding and caring institution it now is. I will always remember Evelyn and her many kindnesses at Cedarfield and in our Sunday school class at Trinity UMC. I will miss her! - Carol Wampler
