Gracie EVANS Obituary
On Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, Ms. Gracie Evans was summoned from her earthly toils to eternal rest. All who knew 'Ms. Gracie' as she was called, knows that she was the epitome of strength right until the very end. Ms. Gracie was known for her feistiness and her strong will. She was an inspiration and a joy to all who crossed her path. She will be greatly missed by all but we rest assured that all of her pain and suffering is over and her celebration has begun.
Ms. Gracie leaves to cherish her fond memories her son, Paul B. Davis (Laura); grandchildren, Paul B. Davis Jr., Deborah Henderson Davis, Silas 'Bobby' Davis, Antonio Davis, Tina Davis and Tenisha Davis; great-grandchildren, Lester Austin (Anna), Lenora Diane Chapman, Lester Austin Jr., Janet Austin Bowens, Michael Austin and MaryAnn Epps; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Our families circle has been broken, Another link is gone from our chain
Though we are separated for a time, We know we will all meet again.
A funeral service will be held noon Friday, Sept. 24, 2010, with a viewing two and a half hours prior to the service at Nickelson-Cummings Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 2700 Parrish Avenue, Newport News, Va.

We were very sorry to hear that Gracie had passed. Our therapy dog group visited her every other Thursday night and always looked forward to our visit. Last Christmas, Maggie, my dog took her a poinsetta plant, every time we went in to visit she would thank Maggie!!! We are going to greatly miss her. You are in our prayers.
