Harvey Lee Brown Sr.

1937 - 2022

Harvey Lee Brown Sr., passed away on March 10, 2022, at Riverside Hospital after a long illness. Harvey was born in Russellville Arkansas to J.D Brown and Myrtle Brown. He married the love of his life, Sylvia Holloway Brown. They were happily married for 63 years. He was a faithful member of Trinity United Methodist Church, where he served on several committees. During his time on the building committee before his declining health he was instrumental in making the "conference table, time capsule and conference screen in the sanctuary (with friend Mike Lester). He was also a member of the Wesley fellowship Sunday School class. Harvey was a quality custom builder in Poquoson and York County for many decades. He was a past master of the Poquoson Masonic Lodge No.0049 for over 50 years. Harvey enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves baseball team with his family and was overjoyed with their winning of the 2021 World Series. He was a fan of the University of Virginia Basketball team. He also enjoyed listening to his country western and bluegrass music.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Glen (Pat), George, Neil (Judy), and Dwight. He was survived by sister, Sue McKnight (Ralph deceased.) Mother and father-in-law, Norman, and Earline Holloway. Grandparents, Minerva and Blandry Huggett (Bill). Harvey was survived by children, Harvey Brown Jr (Fiance Glory), Norma Putnam (Larry), and Vann Baker (Bryant). Grandchildren Niccole Putnam (Fiance Dylan), Madison Davis (Austin), Shelby Putnam, Jessica Brown (Mother Evelyn), and Colby Baker. Great Grandchildren Colbert Harvey Davis and Riley Davis. Sister-in-law, Frances Hinton, Nephew, Joe Freeman (Scott). Niece, Yvette Sigal (Mike and Giuliana).

A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 19th at Trinity United Methodist Church with the burial immediately following at Weston Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, at the church, up until service time.
