J. Provencher Obituary

PROVENCHER, J. EARL, 81, of Tavares, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2002. Born in Detroit where he worked for Chrysler and Ford motor companies, he moved to Orlando in 1958 as an engineer for Martin Marrieta. He later resided in California and moved to Leesburg in 1988 after his retirement from General Dynamics. He was an Army veteran and served in Europe during World War II with the 11th Armored Division. He received his commission as a captain in France during the war and later served in the Army Reserves. He was a lifetime VFW member. He was a graduate of the Chrysler Institute and during his career was a registered manufacturing engineer with years of design work. Survivors include his four children, John of Orlando, Jeanne of Ormond Beach. Mary Ellen of Ft. Myers, and Linda of Flagler Beach; five grandchildren, Mike, Megan and Matt Provencher, and Danny and Nancy Engel; brother, Robert Provencher of Chiefland; and former wife and lifetime friend. Bonnie Provencher of Leesburg. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. Funeral services for J. Earl Provencher will be held at 10AM on Monday, Oct. 28, 2002, at Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg. Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 3-5PM on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lake County. Beyers Funeral Home, Leesburg.
