You will definitely be missed kid... the world lost a bright light.... I don´t know who is going to cheer the Team on as you did or always ask for the scores... if the people in the world had half of what you had then we would be in a better place.... This is truly a loss and you will surely be missed. On behalf of the Ruff Family our hearts break and will keep the Burch Family lifted up.

A member of our church whose son is a school mate of Jackson told me about Jackson's departure. I had his obituary read at our church yesterday. We are all touched by this young man's departure. There are many things we will never understand on this side of Heaven. This is one of them. I will continue to pray for his family. I'm hurt and I didn't know Jackson. I can only imagine how hurt his family are. Weeping may endure for an night but joy comes in the morning,,,Psalm 30:5.

I have never met anyone in your family, but my heart is completely broken for you all. I have cried multiple times every day since I heard. My daughter was an acquaintance of your son since kindergarten. They were never close but she says he was absolutely the smartest and nicest kid around. I am so sorry. I hope you are able to find some peace in the days ahead.

Burch Family,
We have thought of your family and prayed for you daily since hearing the news. There are no words but we want you all to know that we are thinking of you. Todd, our time in scouts with you as our fearless leader was somewhat brief but what was always clear to me was your willingness to volunteer your time and be with your boys doing something they loved. May your memories of Jackson carry you during these dark days, weeks, and months ahead. Your Smithfield community is feeling the ripples of your loss and we are most definitely praying you through it.

Mr. and Mrs. Burch and Joshua,
I was not fortunate enough to meet Jackson, but I did get to hear lots of wonderful stories about him during my time with Joshua in 1st grade. He always spoke so highly of Jackson, and I could tell that he was an intelligent, friendly child just from the discussions that Josh and I had. I am incredibly sorry for your loss, and pray that the wonderful memories you have of him will help to ease the pain of your loss.
Joshua-I hope you can think back and smile about your fun and creative Halloween costumes that you and your brother shared. I pray for peace and comfort for all of you in the coming days, weeks, and months.

I didn’t know your son personally, my daughter taught Jackson’s 6th grade science class last year. We have always heard as a teacher there is that one student, well Jackson was hers. There were very few days we did not hear something about Jackson. Always good, how bright her was, how funny and how if she didn’t know the answer herself she could count on him to know it. Many days we got the random history facts Jackson would share with her. I had the privilege of reading the paper he so wanted her to assign to him. Coming from someone who loved English, his paper was exceptional for his age and I was sincerely impressed.
I can tell by the comments he was loved by many family, friends, teachers and more. Jackson touched many lives he didn’t even know about and for that I am sorry. May the kindness and wisdom he shared with so many shine down on the rest of us so that we can pass that along to others.
Please accept my sincerest sympathy.

What a tragic, profound loss of a great individual. I taught Jackson 3 years at Westside. He was kind and so very intelligent. Jackson was in class for a few years with our daughter Nora at Carrollton Elementary. They also did News Crew together. Nora always enjoyed "working" with him. I remember coming to Mrs DeLong's class to speak about my job when they were in 2nd grade. Jackson asked such thoughtful and amazing questions - I was so impressed! Our family is so sorry for your loss. He touched more lives than he knew. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

During these dark times, it brings me joy to see all of these loving posts. To Mrs. and Mr. Burch, I am very sorry for your loss, having a child for only 12 years is rough, just know, we are all here for you. To Joshua, I don’t know if you remember me, but a few years ago, I went to quality time daycare with you and your brother I can’t even imagine how I would feel if I lost a brother. This morning is the first time I have heard the news. Since I’ve heard about it, this whole situation just doesn’t feel like it should be happening, it just feels like a nightmare. I will forever remember you jackson, Rest In Peace.

Burch family,
My son and I met your sweet boy on the first day of school this year. My son, Caleb, is at the same bus stop as Jackson and also had the pleasure of sharing a seat on the bus with him as well. It is Caleb’s first year at SMS and from day 1 Jackson was so kind and helpful. I asked Caleb what are some words to describe Jackson, he responded with smart, intelligent, kind and funny. Caleb misses Jackson so much already. The loss of a child is the worst pain a parent could ever endure and we pray that you find strength in the memories of Jackson and peace knowing his love for the past 12 years. Sending so much love and prayers your way. We are right down the street in the event you guys need ever need anything! May God give you the strength to face the days ahead. All of our love.

We recently moved into the area and met Jackson on the very first day of school. Jackson and my son, Caleb, share the same bus stop and actually sat in the same seat this year on the bus. It´s Caleb´s first year at SMS and Jackson was so very kind, friendly and helpful from the very first day we met him. Today I asked Caleb what are some words that describe Jackson. He responded with smart, intelligent, kind and funny. There is no greater pain than to lose a child. We pray that you find peace in the memories that you made the past 12 years and the love that he allowed you to experience. Our hearts are shattered and we pray that you reach out to your GP family if there is ANYTHING that we can do to help during this extremely difficult time. Sending all of our love and prayers your way.

I started tearing up when I heard the news. Jackson and I were very good friends, he always made me smile with all of his jokes that actually had intelligence or facts in them. He was one of the smartest kids I have ever known. We have so many memories together and he will be missed. I remember one time when I was feeling down about 2 years ago, and he was one of the only people who noticed so he came over and supported me and turned out to be one of the best friends I’ve ever had. No matter where he is, I will always remember him. I have attached a few pictures that we took during the end of the year celebration. Rest In Peace Jackson, I will forever remember you.

I was blessed to experience a brief, but thoughtful conversation with Jackson at his grandfather’s memorial, Bruce Burch. He marked my soul as a legacy to his grandfather. As this was my first and only contact with Jackson, his likeness to the Burch family was an astonishing and delightful experience for me. May God’s message of eternal peace for Jackson as he joins other family members be a comfort to his parents and grandparents and all those who love him.

Although I never knew Jackson, I have known the Burch family for 40 years. Jackson sounds just like his father Todd, Uncle Bruce, & Grandfather Bruce. All were avid boy scouts & believed in all of the principles of scouts. The Burch men have always been kind and caring. Grandma Alice contributed an abundance of love. They whole family has a wonderful sense of humor that makes want to be around them. God bless you Jackson, & all that knew you & loved you.
