Raines you son of a gun. I appreciate you for everything you did while I knew you. You were a hell of a soldier with unmatched determination. It's been years since I've seen you but I'll never forget you. God bless and we will meet again.

JACOB will be remembered as a friendly and wonderful swim coach to our granddaughters, Anastasia and Julia. He was always upbeat and cheerful around them so when swim meets came around he helped them to enjoy themselves and not be scared or intimidated and was always the best cheer leader for the team. I didn’t know him well but from what I’ve seen around the pool and from our granddaughters, we need more positive and encouraging people like Jacob. He will truly be missed by the Glendale family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

My heart is completely broken with hearing this news. It's never easy when someone so young and talented leaves us. I will just always remember babysitting all four of those Raines rugrats and having Jacob and Josh sit on one another to get them to calm down for a second. It's so sad. I hope the family will heal and find solace within each other during this time.

What an amazing young man. While teaching Jacob in 4th grade, he would light up the room and touched my heart with his caring nature and jovial personality. I always considered it a blessing when we would cross paths as he moved on to middle and high school. His smile and and spirit will always be with us. My prayers are with all that loved and knew him.

Jacob, you impacted my life so much more than you ever knew. I’m going to miss the random phone calls asking me to play Warzone, the late night FaceTimes, playing pool on base in Missouri, you teasing me for being from “the middle of nowhere” Montana, the way you said “Carolina” in your goofy accent, and how mad you were when I didn’t tell you it was my birthday so you sent me flowers in the mail. I’m so heartbroken knowing I can’t call you anymore when I’ve had a bad day or miss talking to you. You were strong for me when I needed it and for that I will always be grateful. Rest easy, my sweet friend. You’ll never be forgotten. DEEP SEA

We have lost a member of our family.....our Glendale family. Entire Raines family please know that your Glendale family is grieving with all of you. We all loved Jacob. He will live forever in the heats of every little Gator that he taught to swim. He was the only one who could get my grandson to make it across the pool! Jacob will also live forever in the hearts of all the parents who were able to cheer their swimmers on because of his outstanding coaching. It is so hard to put into words the sadness and shock I am feeling with the loss of this young man. He brought so much joy to so many...and even though it has been some years since I have seen him I still remember the wonderful smiles he had everyday while I watched him at his home for his family... I will always remember those wonderful smiles that use to melt my heart so... May God bring you into paradise and may He grace you with the love you have extended to others here on earth...I have asked for prayers for the family and will continue praying for them, asking for God's strength to be given through these sad times in their lives, along with my husband for a very long time...
