My condolences on the loss of this great man. I still remember the first time I met him. CDE was holding a sales meeting down in South Carolina. I was a young man in the industry and I was introduced to Mr. Kaplan. In a room of about 80 people, Mr. Kaplan took the time to talk with me for almost 15 minutes. There were any number of industry veterans around the room, but he took the time with a young guy to get to know me and make me feel like I was one of the many people he knew for years. It made a huge impression on me very early in my career

I am sending love and sympathy to you, Jane, and all the family. The Class of 1957 is diminished by the loss of Jim but so proud to have been classmates. I shared his love of all things William and Mary and particularly of the athletic department. Go Tribe!
