JANE FRANK Obituary
Jane Susan led an exceptional life as a leader both in the Jewish community and the community at large and was widely respected, admired and appreciated by many. She was President of Rodef Sholom Temple, the Jewish Community Center of the Virginia Peninsula, the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, a member of the Board of Visitors at Christopher Newport University and served on many other boards and committees too numerous to mention. Above all else, she was deeply devoted to her family and considered that one of her greatest accomplishments.
She earned a degree from the Rhode Island School of Design and loved helping people bring life into their homes and hearts through her gift for interior design and had a successful career with Virginia Commonwealth Realty for over 32 years. She loved to cook, travel (which she and Joe did frequently), never passed up dessert or a dance floor, but most of all to help others in any way she could. She never met a stranger – her warmth, kindness, compassion, and zest for life touched everyone she met in meaningful ways.
There will be a private graveside service for family, followed by a memorial reception on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Christopher Newport University Ferguson Center for the Arts. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the clinicians, nurses and staff of the Medical Intensive Care Unit at Riverside Regional Medical Center and family friends who provided support during her illness. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Rodef Sholom Temple, the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula, or another charity of your choice. Arrangements by Weymouth Funeral Home.

I wish to express my profound sympathy and heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Jane Susan. She served as the Board President of the Peninsula Foodbank for six years during the critical time that this vital community organization was in the midst of fundraising and constructing the seven million dollar state of the art Peninsula Foodbank facilities and food distribution center located in Copeland Industrial Park. Jane Susan´s indomitable spirit, positive attitude and compassion will live on through the Foodbank as long as there are hungry and less fortunate people in need in our community. The Peninsula community and indeed the entire Hampton Roads region owes her a debt of gratitude for her dedication and devotion to a dream in which she truly believed, declaring at our inaugural capital campaign meeting that "folks, failure in not an option." Indeed, it is not, and in this vein we all should celebrate her leadership, friendship and life´s many accomplishments.

Mr. Frank, Shelly, Missy, and Jason,
I was very sad to hear about Mrs. Frank's passing. I have very fond memories of her from Rodef Shalom. I never saw her without a smile, and she was always positive. She was also a natural born leader and a beacon of light who lit up any room she entered.
To Shelly, Missy, and Jason: Losing a mother is an awful experience. On the positive side, your kids had a chance to get to know her and to experience her unconditional love. Her memory will live on through them and future generations as they retell stories to their kids.

Jane Susan as well as Joe welcomed us into the community. We enjoyed sabbath dinners in her home. She always took the time to care, sharing good times as well as rough.
