Jeanne Harrell Obituary

PORTSMOUTH - Jeanne Page Brady Bentley Harrell, 79, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2002. A native of Hampton, she lived in Williamsburg for 20 years before moving to Portsmouth in 1966. She was an accountant, having worked for Colonial Williamsburg and she had retired from VA Chemical in 1985, after 15 years of service. Mrs. Harrell was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert K. Bentley, and her second husband, Hugh M. Harrell. She is survived by three daughters, Robin Bentley Ward and her husband, Les, of Suffolk, Sherry Bentley Turpin and her husband, Pat, of Portsmouth and Suzie Bentley Halpin and her husband, Robert P. Jr. of Toano; seven grandchildren, Michelle Quick, Robert Halpin, Jeffrey Ward, Michael Halpin, Carla Higgins, Keith Quick and Jonathan Ward; seven great grandchildren; and her stepfather, Morgan "Bud" Hall of Suffolk. The family will receive friends tonight from 7 to 8 p.m. at Peninsula Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 28, at the funeral home with burial to follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 895 Middle Ground Blvd., Suite 154, Newport News, VA 23606, the Suffolk Family YMCA Scholarship Fund, 2769 Godwin Blvd., Suffolk, VA 23434 or Bon Secours Hospice, 3636 High Street, Portsmouth, VA 23707, Attn: Hospice Patient Use.
