Joe Robinson Obituary

HAMPTON - Joe N. "Button" Robinson, 71, quietly slipped away on Friday August 16, 2013 at Gentiva Legacy Home for Hospice and Support, at Fort Monroe. He was a native of Hampton, VA. He served in the U. S. Air Force; worked for Haynes Furniture Company; and retired from Northrop-Grumman after 30 years of faithful service. He committed his life to Jesus Christ at an early age at Zion Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father Nathan Robinson. He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Alberta H. Robinson; five siblings Patricia R. Gross (Albert), Barbara "BJ" Hilton-Ford (James), Corinthia "Nudie" Robinson, Edward "Gee Gee" Robinson (JoAnn) all of Hampton and Princess Facen-Stepp (Wendell) of Bowie, MD.; and a host of relatives and friends. A celebration of his life will begin at 11 a.m. Friday August 23, at Zion Baptist Church, 125 W. County Street, Hampton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home by 10 a.m. A viewing will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. followed by visitation from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 22, at the funeral home. Services of comfort entrusted to Smith Brothers Funeral Home, 545 E. Mercury Blvd., Hampton, 757-723-4117.

To the the family my condolences Mr. Robinson will definitely be missed. I am grateful to have had the pleasure of playing a part in his care giving. Mr. Robinson would always make me laugh, he was a jokester and I will miss him. I pray that Jehovah's Holy Spirit be with the family in their time of grievance.
