Joel Schwab Obituary
He was a native of Chemnitz, Germany, and had been a resident of Virginia for 60 years.
Mr. Schwab retired after 40 years of service as a Senior Property Manager for Drucker & Falk, LLC. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, was a member of the Institute of Real Estate Management and was a volunteer at the Virginia Living Museum in Newport News.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; and a daughter, Joan Olivia Schwab.
Mr. Schwab is survived by his daughter, Fizzy and her husband, R. Jeffrey Berlin of Virginia Beach; two sons, Jonathan Stuart Schwab of Carrollton and Philip Arthur Schwab of Virginia Beach; one brother, Peter Schwab and his wife, Mia of London, England; granddaughter, Jessica Berlin of Virginia Beach; and two nieces and a nephew.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Beth Sholom Home of Virginia Beach.
At the request of the family, services were private and the burial was held in the Jewish Cemetery of the Virginia Peninsula.

Fizzy, Philip and Johnny,
I'm so sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember him well from our neighborhood as such a kind man. I know how hard it is to lose one's Dad, it just doesn't seem possible that he's gone. I'm glad you have each other and that you are close to one another as I noticed Philip you list Va. as your home now. May you be a comfort to each other remembering stories from his life.

Fizzy, Philip and Johnny, I am so sorry in the lost of your father. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. I will never forget all the good times that I had at your home with your mom, dad and Joanie. I lost my sister last September my prayers are with you and your family at this time. Dear Fizzy, Philip and Johnny, what can one say but what a wonderful man and father Mr.Schwab was. I remember all the good times that I had at your home with your mother, father and Joanie, I will never forget those days. I hope that you and your brothers and family are doing well. Dear Fizzy, Philip and Johnny,
I was a 1968 graduate of NNHS. I remember you well. My brother was close to you.
I remember all the "triplet" stories and they still bring a smile to my face.
Now is a very hard time for you losing such a special person.
Hopefully time will help you to heal and soon the wonderful memories of your Dad will bring smiles back to your faces.

To the Schwab Family:
I had the priviledge of working with you father at Drucker & Falk just a few years before he retired. Joel was such a sweet and gentle man, who had a wonderful smile, and always shared words of encouragement. He called your mother every morning from the office and told her how much he loved her and I loved him for that! I will always have very fond memories of of your father, as I know you will.
