John Louis Chadwick, Jr.

John Chadwick went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 25, 2022. He was born in Kellumtown, Hubert, NC on December 6, 1935, to the late John Louis Chadwick, Sr. and Trixie Tyrance Chadwick. He was a faithful and devoted member of Third Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. John graduated from Georgetown High School and was inducted into the Georgetown High School Football Championship Hall of Fame in 1955. Soon after graduating from high school, John served in the United States Army.

Involved in numerous community activities, John found them rewarding and enjoyable. He was a loyal member of the Beau Brummell Civic and Social Club for more than 40 years. John was a longtime member of the Hampton University Booster Club. He and his wife enjoyed attending football and basketball games on campus cheering on the Pirates.

John retired from the New Jersey Transit Rail Operations and Amtrak Railroad, New York after 30 years of service. After retirement, he remained active in the community and in his church. He adored and took care of his wife, Naomi, to whom he was married for forty-seven (47) years until her death June 29, 2015.

The funeral is Saturday, July 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Third Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia. A repast will immediately follow the service at the Beau Brummel Civic and Social Club in Hampton, Virginia. The interment will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 12:00 pm at Kellumtown Cemetary in Hubert, NC. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Third Baptist Church in Hampton, VA in John's honor.
