John H. Kilmon Jr.

WILLIAMSBURG - John H. Kilmon, Jr., 77, died on Saturday, April 22, 2006 at the Hospice House of Williamsburg. He was born September 16, 1928 and retired from Bell Atlantic after many years of service. He was a member of the Bremond Lodge No 241 AF&AM. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Shives Kilmon; infant son, Kenneth E.; son, William A.; grandson, W. Andrew Kilmon and great-grandson Cameron J. Amos. He is survived by his wife Clora S. Kilmon; his son, John H. Kilmon III and his wife, Connie; daughter, Francine K. Mercer and her husband, Dick; sisters, Jean K. Allen and Mary Lou K. Shives and her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Dr. Michelle A. Kilmon and her husband, Dr. Chris P. Shelburne, Cindy K. Amos and her husband, Robert, J. Brennen Kilmon, Melissa M. Miller, Amanda K. and Joshua K. Mercer, Olivia M. Kilmon; great-grand-children, R. Carson Amos and J. Conner Shelburne; sister-in-law, Dorothy T. Leonard and dear friend, Catherine B. Oder. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 26th at the Peninsula Memorial Park. Burial will follow. The family requests that expressions of love take the form of contributions to the Hospice House of Williamsburg, 4445 Powhantan Parkway, Williamsburg, VA, 23188. The family wishes to thank all the friends and loved ones who rallied around John during his brief illness. He died knowing that he was loved.
