Dear Sweet Joe, I just ran across this while searching for something else, I am so sad to find that you have passed. It's been so many years since we all last saw you, I heard that you would drop in the farmers market from time to time. I just wanted to say how much of a true friend you were to me and all the rest of the gang from "back in the day". You always took care of us and made sure we made it home and other places we were all going. We all had some great times together and lots of memories. I wish I had known, I surely would have been there along with the rest of us. My deepest sympathy to your family, may you rest well my friend, I know you are in Heaven , with Jesus and all who have passed before you, take care, Love.... Ednamae Lewis. Hampton, Virginia

Joe lived next door to us for 30 years, and he was a good neighbor. Whenever we went out of town, he helped us by collecting our mail and newspapers and watering our plants. We shared a lot of time on our front porch discussing news, politics, and sports. Every animal in the neighborhood knew Joe: he was a good friend to all animals. The residents of our street called Joe "our own personal neighborhood watch" because he kept an eye on all of us and was the first to notify a neighbor if anything seemed amiss. We will miss him.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow,
I am the sun on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die.
