Joyce Cobb Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Mrs. Joyce E. Cobb, widow of Ralph D. Cobb joined her husband in Heaven on December 28, 2016, eighteen days after he passed on December 10, 2016. Joyce was the daughter of John Kirk Campbell and Minnie Campbell. She attended Olivet College in Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph D. Cobb, a daughter Susan E. Felts and twin Grandsons, Geoffrey Kirk and Kevin David Cobb. Joyce moved to Williamsburg with Ralph and their three children in 1957, from Midland, Michigan. Joyce was a founding member of St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Williamsburg. She served as a volunteer receptionist for the church and volunteered in other facets of the church organization. She was also a founding member of the Williamsburg Area Day Care Center during the 1960's to early 1970's. Joyce is survived by two sons, John (Pamela), of Montpelier and Jim (Lynn), of Toano. She is survived by five grandchildren, Kerri Cobb, Trever Cobb, Amy Howard (Justin), Joy Kirkpatrick (Sean), Roseanna Felts and eight great-grandchildren, Brock, Cooper. Lauren, Amanda, Logan, Cody, Bethany and Brandon. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, her church family and she enjoyed cooking and spending their summer months at their cabin in Mio, Michigan on the Au Sable River. She especially loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a devoted fan of the University of Michigan and her favorite baseball team the Detroit Tigers. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Patriot's Colony Convalescent Center for their dedication in making Joyce comfortable during the last two years. The Cremation Society of Virginia is assisting the family. A joint Celebration of Life Service for Joyce and Ralph will be held on January 14, 2017 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church, 1333 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, VA 23185 at 11 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2017 at St. Martin's Episcopal Church.
