L. Frederick "Freddie" Tomlinson Sr.

L. Frederick (Freddie) Tomlinson, Sr., age 88 of Mathews, passed away on Saturday, April 29, 2023. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Inez Tomlinson, and wife of 51 years, Jeanette H. Tomlinson. Freddie retired from NASA in 1995 after 41 years of service. He was a fifty-year member and past Master of Oriental Lodge 20 AF & AM, a member of Urbanna Royal Arch Chapter 59, a member of Central United Methodist Church, an honorary member of the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department, and an affiliate of Hogg Funeral Home, Gloucester Point. Freddie is survived by his son, L. F. (Ricky) Tomlinson, Jr. and wife, Carol; grandson Steve Tomlinson and wife, Mallory; great-granddaughter Lacey Tomlinson; sister-in-law, Mary Elizabeth Hudgins; and several additional family members. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 2, 2023, at St. Paul Cemetery, Susan, VA. As per Freddie's request, memorial contributions may be made to the Mathews Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1130, Mathews, VA 23109, or to Central United Methodist Church, P.O.
