Leon TAYLOR Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Leon H. Taylor peacefully answered the Master's call on Monday, April 19, 2010, in Sentara Williamsburg Regional Medical Center.
His life began Nov. 21, 1937, the son of the late Avi and Ernest Taylor, of James City County, Va.
In his youth, he confessed his faith in Christ and became a member of Chickahominy Baptist Church, Toano, Va. He served his church for many years, as a member of the Usher Ministry.
He retired from Heilig-Myers Furniture Store, after many years of service. After retiring, he was employed as a Bus Aide for Williamsburg/James City County Public Schools. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He leaves to forever cherish his precious memories, his loving wife, Mildred B. Taylor; his daughters, Beverly Goddard (Kirkland), Alicia Jones, Linda Brown and Henrietta Morman; his sons, Kelly Taylor, Breon Robinson, Kevin Jackson (Barbara) Roy Brown (Wanda), Ray Brown and Alvin Robinson; his sister, Dolores Ferguson; his brothers, Osborne Taylor Sr. (Doris) and Fernando Taylor Sr. (Annie); his 17 grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.
A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2010, in Chickahominy Baptist Church with the Rev. Corwin R. Hammond officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 143 Clark Lane by noon Saturday. Mr. Taylor may be viewed from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.

I worked with Leon many years ago at Heilig-Meyers and remember the times we went out in the truck selling those mattresses. He was a great person to work with and I will always remember the humor we had at work. God Bless his family and my deepest condolences to all of you. Karen Molineux

My heart goes out to all the Taylor family,The passing of Leon breaks my heart.
