Mabel Coe Obituary

WILLIAMSBURG - Mabel Chalfant Coe, 82, of Williamsburg, died Wednesday, November 6, 2002. She was born January 21, 1920, in Pataskala, Ohio, and married Orson L. Coe, January 1942, in the Chapel of Hunter Field in Savannah, Georgia. They lived in Columbus, Ohio, until 1955 when they moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. Mrs. Coe worked as a bank teller from 1963 until her retirement in 1981. She moved to Williamsburg in 1981 following the death of her husband. She was a dedicated member of Williamsburg Methodist Church, volunteered with FISH and the Williamsburg Hospital Auxiliary. Mrs. Coe is survived by her son, Dr. Thomas Coe, and his wife, Leslie, and her granddaughters, Jessica and Betsy. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, November 9, at the home of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Coe, 106 Yorkshire Drive. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 10, at Williamsburg Methodist Church, Jamestown Road with the Rev. Kirk Mariner officiating. Memorial donations to FISH, 312 Waller Mill Road, Williamsburg, Va. 23185, the Williamsburg Methodist Church, 514 Jamestown Road, Williamsburg, Va. 23188, or a charity of choice. Interment will be in Pataskala, Ohio, at a later date. Bucktrout of Williamsburg is in charge of the arrangements.
