Marty CHADWICK Obituary
Marty was born in Newport News, Va., on Jan. 4, 1970, to Joann Chadwick Wright and the late Billy J. Brown. He graduated from Ferguson High School in 1987 and attended Virginia Military Institute.
Marty is survived by his mother, Joann Wright; one daughter, Martina Crosby; one son, Isaiah Nazareth; a twin brother, Marvin Chadwick; four nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
A service celebrating Marty's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, at Psalms Ministry, 7204 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Va., (across from the Daily Press). Interment will be private. A viewing will be held from noon to 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at C. C. Carter Funeral Home, 3314 Roanoke Avenue, Newport News and at the church two hours prior to service.

It is still hard to believe Marty is gone. Marty Mom and my mother were friends and when we were kids, my brother and I used to play with Marty and Marvin.
Unknown to me, at the time, he committed to attend VMI and play basketball. I was already there. I was filled with pride and joy seeing him there that first day in the mess hall. I thought what a great decision. I thought now that he is here I have to do all that I can to help him succeed. In the end, now that he is gone, I just feel like his star stopped shining too early. I'm going to miss him forever.

The right words are difficult to come by when trying to express how we feel about your loss, because your loss is ours as well. But I pray that the memories of Marty will endure in your heart. I know I will never forget my brother and I growing up playing together with Marty and Marvin, and then eventually having Marty join me at VMI when we became young men. He will be sorely missed. I am so saddened to learn of Marty's passing. I went to middle and high school with him and Marvin. He was always very kind to me. One of most vivid memories of Marty was when "Thriller" came out. He loved Michael Jackson, as did I. I still can see him in his Michael Jackson jacket.
