Marvin Lenwood Leffel Sr.

Marvin Lenwood Leffel, Sr., 89, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 with his family at his side.

He served his country in the U. S. Marines and was employed by NASA for 15 years. Marvin was employed by Hatchett Home Improvement meeting with clients and overseeing work at different locations mainly because he loved to be around people and make friends. After retirement he became Facilities Manager for Liberty Live Church in Hampton where he served the Lord and continued to be with people and around the friends he loved. He also loved to praise the Lord with singing and was part of the Calvary Quartet.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jane Cecil Leffel; his children, Robert Leffel, (Elizabeth) of Newport News, Ryan Leffel, (Kelly) of Florence, AL, Debbie McDaniel (Jimmy) of York County. and Lenwood Leffel, Jr., (Tracy) of Gloucester; two brothers, Kenny Leffel (Anne) of York County and Jim Leffel of Roanoke, VA; ten grandchildren, Willam, Harrison, Haynes, Vera, Clark, Roman, Austin (Caitlyn), Wyatt, Nolan and Serenity; and one great-grandchild Jace.

The family will receive friends at W. J. Smith & Son Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 from 1 to 2 PM followed by a Celebration of Life service at 2 PM with Pastor Joe Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
