Mary Beaudry Obituary

NEWPORT NEWS - Mary Mason Beaudry, 81, entered into rest on Tuesday, August 20, 2002. She was born in Tifton, Georgia, and was a Peninsula resident since 1963. She was the widow of Eugene James Beaudry, and a homemaker. She was a veteran of WWII, and is recognized as the first Georgian to enlist in the Women's Army Corps during the war. She served as a WAC in the Middle East Service Command with service in North Africa, and in Italy. She is survived by five daughters and a son, Mary Carolyn Beaudry, of Newbury, Massachusetts, Rose Floy Beaudry of Richmond, Faye Michelle Beaudry of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, Jeannette Marie Beaudry of Richmond, James Arthur Beaudry of Newport News, and Madeline Yvette Morrison of Plymouth, Massachusetts; a brother James Barkuloo of Panama City, Florida; a Sister Carolyn Manning of Fernandina Beach, Florida; as well as four grandchildren, Mason James Beaudry, James Thomas Beaudry, Adam Bennette Beaudry, and Myranda Grey Morrison. The family will receive friends at Altmeyer Funeral Home in Newport News this evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. A graveside funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 23, 2002, in Hampton National Cemetery, in the Hampton University Section. Memorial donations may be directed to Virginia School for the Deaf, Blind, and Multi-disabled, 700 Shell Road, Hampton, Virginia 23661.
