Michael C. Hargrow

Rockford, IL - EO2 Michael C. Hargrow, 30, of Rockford passed away Sunday, June 16, 2013, in his home surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born on April 1, 1983, in Joliet, IL, son of Kevin and Kim (Hargrow) King. He graduated from Joliet Central High School and joined the United States Navy in 2001, serving as an equipment operator and a proud Seabee. Michael loved his job and military family, who nicknamed him "Yum Yum". Michael married Tanya Ingram on April 16, 2010 in Portsmouth, Virginia. Tanya's nickname for Michael was Superman. He was a big Chicago Bears fan. He loved music, playing his guitar, bowling, amusement parks, puzzles and video games, especially World of Warcraft. Survivors include wife, Tanya; parents, Kevin and Kim Hargrow; grandmother, Mattie Hargrow; mother-in-law, Julie (Randy Earley) Ingram; father-in-law, Robert Ingram; brother-in-law, Robert Ingram, Jr.; sisters-in-law, Tosha and Tamara Ingram; nephew, Zarin Purifoy; nieces, Treasure Purifoy and Malayna Bell; host of aunt, uncles and cousins. Special friends, Jeremy and Wanda Cogar, Michael and Christy Hewes and children; Michael's many friends and entire military family. Predeceased by grandparents. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Cremation Society of Illinois, 6825 Weaver Road, Rockford, IL, with visitation from 12:00 till time of service. Pastor Lynn Hargrow will officiate. Burial with Military Honors will be held following the service in Arlington Memorial Cemetery, 6202 Charles Street.
